Tusk? Ocean breeze? Agean Cream? Fawn? Blossom Petal Blanche? Taupe?  - Magnolia is exactly what is says on the tin.

When I first came to London I got a job with this decorator, not just any decorator, an artiste who charged huge amounts and painted the homes of the great and good around Hamstead and Highgate Village; any time anyone ever asked for one of those bizarrely named 'white with a hint topaz' type of off-whites, my boss would nod sagely, take down the shade number from the Sanderson catalogue then go and buy a huge tub of trade magnolia for 17p and proceed to paint the entire house in that reliable non-colour. The clients were always delighted with the results and were so glad they paid the extra for the 'exactly the right shade'.

This happened to me!

Or it did in one room, the boss tried to blame the juniors, I sort of believed him, then went out and bought the paint myself to make sure they used it. It looks much better than magnolia, I forget the name, but it was suitably stupid.
